What are All-On-4 dental implants?

All-On-4 is a full-arch tooth replacement solution that uses four titanium implants to support a complete set of fixed teeth. We strategically position them in the jawbone. Rather than placing an individual implant for every missing tooth, the four posts act as anchors for an entire arch, making it possible to replace a full row of teeth with fewer implants and less surgical complexity.

We fit a temporary arch on the day of surgery so you leave with teeth in place. Once healing is complete, we attach a permanent arch. The result is a fixed, stable set of teeth that doesn’t shift, doesn’t need adhesive, and doesn’t come out at night.

All-On-4 is suitable for patients with multiple missing teeth, failing teeth, ill-fitting or loose dentures, heavily worn or damaged dentition, or severe gum disease.

01 Initial consultation and assessment

Your first appointment involves a thorough examination of your mouth, including CBCT X-rays to assess your bone structure and overall oral health. We’ll discuss your history, your goals, and whether All-On-4 is the right solution for your situation. This is a good time to ask anything. We’re here to help you make an informed decision, not to rush you into one.

02 Addressing any underlying issues

Before the implant procedure begins, we identify and treat any oral health issues that need to be resolved first. This ensures the best possible foundation for your new teeth.

03 Implant placement

Under anaesthetic, we surgically place four titanium posts in the jawbone. The procedure typically takes two to three hours. We fit a temporary arch on the same day, so you leave the clinic with a complete set of teeth.

04 Healing and integration

Over the following months, the implants fuse naturally with the jawbone through a process called osseointegration. During this period, most patients can carry on with daily life as normal, with some dietary adjustments to support healing. We schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your progress throughout.

05 Permanent arch fitting

Once healing is complete, typically three to four months after surgery, we craft and fit your permanent arch. We take a detailed impression to ensure a precise, comfortable fit before attaching the final prosthesis.

How long does All-On-4 last?

What is the difference between All-On-4 and dentures?

Dentures are removable and rest on the gumline; they can shift when eating or speaking and require nightly removal and cleaning. All-On-4 implants are fixed to the jawbone and function like natural teeth. They don’t move, don’t need to be removed, and don’t require adhesive. They also stimulate the jawbone, which dentures cannot do, helping to preserve bone density over time. 

What is the difference between All-On-4 and All-On-6?

All-On-4 uses four implant posts per arch; All-On-6 uses six, providing additional anchoring points. Both are effective full-arch solutions.
