Principal Dentist

BDSc. (Hons) (The University of Melbourne), FICCDE

Dr Diluni has over 10 years’ experience in dentistry, having completed her degree right here in Victoria in 2012, graduating with honours. She was also awarded the prestigious Dean’s Honours in 2009 for Excellence in Dentistry at the Melbourne Dental School.

After graduating, Diluni was selected to undertake an apprenticeship at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne under the guidance of Australia’s leading dental specialists. Since then, she has worked for many years gaining experience in private practices in both metropolitan and regional areas of Victoria, initially settling at Mulgrave Dental Group, and more recently, practising here at Peninsula Dental Studio.

While Diluni strives to get to know each of her patients and provide exceptional care for their individual needs, she is particularly well-loved by our very young patients. As a mother herself, Diluni believes that all children deserve a good start in their oral health and has a knack for making children’s dental experiences at the studio positive — even fun.

These days, she spends a great deal of her time undertaking continuous professional development so that her patients continue to receive the very best of what modern dentistry in Australia can offer. Outside of work, she loves to travel and spend time with her young family.

Practice Manager

Certificate III in Dental Assisting (ADA)

Sonia’s dental career began in the late 1980s, completing a dental assistant course and becoming a senior dental nurse for approximately six years.

Soon she transitioned into the role of front desk coordinator, and later, took time off to raise her three beautiful daughters. Here, Sonia’s career branched out and she found additional experience in both work cover and private investigations, though her passion for the dental industry remained strong. When the opportunity arose, she came back to join the remarkable team at our sister dental practice, Mulgrave Dental Group.

Sonia continues to find joy in seeing both new and existing patients follow their oral health journeys at Peninsula Dental Studio. She has been instrumental in building the compassionate and dedicated team we have, with her leadership fostering and nurturing an environment where every member of the team feels committed to providing the highest possible standard of care. Under her management we’ve flourished, earning a reputation as a safe space which prioritises the wellbeing and comfort of all patients.

Outside of work, Sonia enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and loves to explore the region’s diverse food scene. With five children between her and her wonderful partner, sports are also a significant part of their weekends.
