Why choose us

Invisalign

Invisalign uses a series of custom-made, virtually invisible aligners to gradually shift your teeth into position. You wear each aligner for about two weeks before you progress to the next in the series. The aligners are removable, which means eating, brushing, and flossing remain straightforward throughout treatment. Invisalign is a popular choice for adults who want an effective result without the visibility of traditional braces.

Clear aligners

Clear aligners work on the same principle as Invisalign – a sequence of transparent, removable trays that progressively align your teeth. They’re a comfortable, low-profile option well suited to patients with mild to moderate alignment concerns. Our team will assess your suitability and discuss whether clear aligners or Invisalign is the better fit for your situation.

Braces

Traditional braces remain one of the most effective orthodontic tools available, particularly for more complex alignment and bite issues. Modern braces are lower-profile than earlier generations, and we also offer cosmetic braces options for patients seeking a less visible solution. Braces are fixed, which means they work continuously without relying on patient compliance around wearing time.

Our process

How teeth straightening works

Step 01: Consultation and assessment

Imagine the feeling of finally seeing your dream smile in the mirror. We start with a clear consultation so you understand your options and feel supported from the beginning.

Step 02: Fitting your treatment device

Once your treatment plan is confirmed and your aligners or braces are ready, you’ll come in for a fitting appointment. There’s no surgery involved. We’ll fit your device, check it’s comfortable, and walk you through everything you need to know about wearing and caring for it.

Step 03: Ongoing adjustments and progress checks

Throughout your treatment period, we schedule regular check-ups to monitor progress and make any necessary adjustments. If you’re using aligners, you’ll progress through your series at home, with appointments to review how your teeth are responding. If you have braces, we’ll adjust them at each visit to keep things moving on track.

Step 04: Retention

Once your teeth have reached their final position, we enter the retention phase. We provide a custom retainer to keep your teeth in place and protect the results of your treatment. We tailor your retainer plan to your situation and we guide you through wearing and caring for it.

Benefits

Why patients choose teeth straightening at Peninsula Dental Studio

Discreet options for adult patients +

Invisalign and clear aligners are virtually invisible in daily life. Most people won’t notice you’re in treatment at all. This matters when you have a client-facing role, are socially active, or simply prefer to keep your dental work private.

Everything managed in one place +

Peninsula Dental Studio handles orthodontic treatment alongside general and cosmetic dentistry. There’s no referral to an external specialist or juggling separate practices. If anything comes up during your treatment that needs attention, we’re already across your full dental picture.

A treatment plan built around your life +

We understand that adults lead busy lives with limited flexibility. Our team works with you to choose the option that fits your schedule, your budget, and your tolerance for treatment time. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach here.

Better oral health alongside a straighter smile +

Crowded or misaligned teeth can be harder to clean thoroughly, increasing the risk of plaque build-up, decay, and gum issues over time. Straightening your teeth makes them easier to maintain. It’s a practical benefit that goes beyond aesthetics.

Flexible for families +
We treat adults and teens, which makes Peninsula Dental Studio a practical choice for families looking to manage orthodontic treatment in one location. If you’re weighing up options for yourself and a family member at the same time, we can assess both and discuss what makes sense for each.

Questions?
We’re glad you asked

Am I too old for teeth straightening?

You can update this answer inside the page editor.

How long does teeth straightening take?

Treatment duration varies significantly depending on the complexity of your case and the option you choose. Minor alignment issues may resolve in as little as six months with clear aligners; more complex cases involving bite correction can take longer with braces. We provide a realistic timeline at your consultation, specific to your situation.

Is teeth straightening painful?

Most patients experience some mild pressure or discomfort in the days following a new aligner or a brace adjustment. But this is normal, and typically settles quickly. The ongoing experience of wearing aligners or braces is generally comfortable once you adjust to them. Our team will walk you through what to expect at each stage.

Can I eat normally with aligners?

Yes. One of the main advantages of removable aligners is that you take them out to eat and drink (other than water). There are no food restrictions with Invisalign or clear aligners. With braces, it is best to avoid some harder or stickier foods to protect the brackets and wires.

What is the difference between Invisalign and clear aligners?

Invisalign is a specific brand of clear aligner system with an extensive track record and proprietary technology. Other clear aligner systems work on the same principle and may be suitable depending on your case. Our team will discuss both options and recommend the approach best suited to your alignment needs and budget.

Will I need a retainer after treatment?

Yes. A retainer is an essential part of any orthodontic treatment. Once your teeth reach their final position, a retainer holds them in place while the surrounding bone stabilises. Without it, teeth can gradually shift back over time. We provide a personalised retainer plan at the end of your treatment.

Do you treat children and teens as well as adults?

Yes. We treat adults and younger patients. Orthodontic assessment in children can be beneficial from about age seven, as early intervention can sometimes prevent more complex treatment later. If you’re considering treatment for a child or teenager, we’re happy to include an assessment as part of a family appointment.
